Elections- undecided???

The South African elections are just around the corner. Next week Wednesday to be precise. Many South Africans that are eligible to vote are undecided as to whom to vote for. Driving to work this morning there was talk on the radio about a website that had a poll predictor. This is a survey that gives you an indication as to who you should vote for based on your responses.

If you have a spare 5 minutes visit the Mail & Guardian website and work through the poll predictor. You may be surprised at the outcome. If you know who you are going to vote for, it would be interesting to see how accurate this predictor is in confirming your choice or not.
I worked through the survey earlier this evening, quite interesting....

Last week and Next week...

Last week was an awesome week for the following reasons:

  1. It was the Easter weekend.
  2. I was on holiday with the family.
  3. I had an awesome time with the family.
  4. I had a great time with some friends
  5. Our son gave the most special grace at the table for Easter lunch on Sunday.

So those are some of the things that made last week so awesome. No.5 on the list is by no means the least special thing on the list. It was his grace that he said, totally off the cuff. The whole table was in tears. Something so special out of of 4 year olds mouth!

Next week:

  • Back to work tomorrow :(
  • 3 day week :)
  • Weekend is around the corner!
  • 8 days till our overseas trip!!!!!
  • More sport on TV and the start of the IPL this weekend!
  • Voting next Wednesday...

Yip you read right, 8 days till we head off on our long awaited overseas trip. Time has flown by so quickly. It is nearly time to bring out the suitcases and pack. The excitement is really starting to set in, and so is the reality that our children are staying behind. They will be okay. No, they will be fine. No, they will be spoilt rotten, they are staying with their Aunty Hayley and Uncle Faf.

A busy week ahead...

Songs and YOU...

What is your favourite song?

I'm sure you have been posed with question. How long did it take you to answer?

For me, this is almost impossible to answer. I have a number of songs that I love. I have a number of bands or individuals that I enjoy their music and lidtening to. Some are from the 70's, the majority from the 80's or 90's and then the current stuff. But to pick a favourite, well that is where I am stumped.

I have a playlist linked to my blog which has some of the songs I enjoy. Recently I have remembered " The Beautiful South and Song for Whoever" which I remember and enjoy. It has to be one of my all time favourites. Then there is "Benny and the Jets" by Elton John. This song i enjoyed after discovering it in a recent movie - 27 Dresses. What about "Say a little prayer" from Four weddings and a funeral? Great songs made memorable by movies. These are by no means my favourites.. but I find it difficult to even try to begin to find a favourite. David Cook, the latest American Idol is good. Then there is Daughtry from the same competition, snow Patrol, Rick Astley, Madonna, the Lighthouse Family, or Coldplay? What about the Bee Gees, Erasure, Depeche Mode or Lionel Richie for that matter? Then there is the local stuff like Watershed, Mean Mr Mustard or the Parletones? The old or the new?

Choosing a favourite song is so difficult for me. Perhaps you have it far easier and clear cut. If so, please let me know your thoughts. If not, let me know your thoughts anyway.

Music and friends...

Today was a usual Saturday, when the rugby was on. The usual senario is that we end up at a mates house if not your own to watch the rugby match which is to be televised on Saturday afternoon followed or preceded, but usually followed by braai. This Saturday was no different from the any other in that respect. This weeks braai and game was to be enjoyed at Nick and Tracy's house.

All went as usual, with nothing out of the ordinary. This Saturday it was rugby followed by a braai (an early game).

After the braai, we headed to the bar to enjoy a game of darts. Still nothing out of the ordinary. Nick cranked up the music loaded on his PC and the evening continued. This is were things changed.... we took turns in choosing the next song to be played and sang along to. It turns out that Nick and I have a very similar taste in music. various songs from all sorts of genre's were played and we sang along, having a whale of a time.

Thanks for a great evening of music appreciation and fun!

Something special!

I cannot take credit for this post, and some of you might of come across it before. But just in case , and by the slightest chance you haven"t, then this is for you. I was listening to a minister preach on another blog the other day and just heard little snippets. My wife was the one that was listening with great enthusiasm and concentration. I happened to pick up on something about Laminin Protein Molecules.
Not knowing much, in fact nothing at all about these molecules, I decided to google the idea. I soon became aware of the greatness of the whole matter.
It turns out that Laminin Protein Molecules are the molecules that act as glue to hold all of the cells/molecules that hold you and I together, to make up the matter that we are as a being, as an entity. So to say the least they are quite important!

God is our creator , and we all know that Jesus died on the cross for us. Keep in mind the symbol of the cross. When we look at the Laminin Protein molecule what do we notice....

It's make up is in the shape of the cross. The picture on the left is the structure of the Laminin Protein Molecule , and the image on the right is an actual image of the previously mentioned molecule.
How awesome is this????

My wife's fear of flying...

For those of you who have been following this blog since it's inception or alternatively know my wife, will know that she has a huge fear of flying. This fear is not due to the lack of flying, as she has done this on numerous occasions, it is just a fear that she has. We have a overseas trip in three weeks time, so my wife took drastic measures....

On Tuesday afternoon she took BIG steps to cure this fear.....

Yip, at the park she headed off to the iron bird and headed up the steps to sort out this fear for once and for all.

Well Done Love!
